Star Wars Game Is Canceled

Respawn Entertainment is discontinuing the development of a Star Wars first-person shooter (FPS). Led by former LucasArts employee Peter Hirschmann, who previously contributed to the development of the Battlefront games and The Force Unleashed.

As part of EA’s significant organizational changes, approximately 670 employees are facing dismissal. Respawn, an EA studio, was concurrently working on three Star Wars games, as revealed in early 2022. The Apex Legends maker is still in progress with a third game in the Star Wars Jedi series and an undisclosed strategy game.
